Behavior
In my earlier article on Savannah cats behaviour, we talked about some exciting and uncommon response shown by the category of savannah cats that go on my plantation. That was only the starting. These savannah cat price appear to take pleasure in unpredicted behaviour. I thought I’d share some more gems with you.
You will find three feminine savannah cats on my plantation. They contain matriarch, Patch, and two of her daughters. There were other female savannah cats on the farm, but I have already been in a position to find new homes for most of them. Savannah Pet cats, being solitary hunters, aren’t likely to show any social hierarchy.
My three woman, Savannah cats do have an absolute hierarchy. The very best savannah cats are, of course, Patch. It is the two daughters who have been interesting. The old girl, Calico, is from Patch’s first litter she got on the plantation. She is a robust and healthy calico that hasn’t got any real problems.
The second girl is LITTLE LADY. The little lady is a year or two young than Calico. She is the tiniest savannah cats on the plantation. A dark savannah cats with flashy white markings, the little lady is energetic and elegant.
Since her delivery, Calico has been Patch’s favourite child. Calico and patch hung out collectively most of the time. Patch even allowed Calico to help her with her kittens. When Patch wished to take action, Calico was there to babysit. Also though Patch was there, Calico was often there with her.
She can often be seen cleaning a kitten or even just providing a right warm place for the tiny man to sleep. When LITTLE LADY arrived things continuing quite awhile just as. Little Girl was raised and got her first litter of kittens. Calico, as sometimes happens with calico savannah cats has ended up being sterile.
She has never really had any kittens. Due to that, when a little lady got her kittens, Calico lost her favourite girl position. With Little Girl’s kittens, Patch became the doting grandmother. She was always assisting LITTLE LADY with her kittens. Both of then can often be seen lying jointly, bathing the kittens or viewing them play. Calico was banished. She wasn’t allowed anywhere near those kittens or any other litter since.
Calico didn’t just lose kitten privileges. She wasn’t even permitted to go out with Patch anymore just how she used to. Poor Calico, she was very annoyed. She knew who to be blamed for her predicament. LITTLE LADY. Calico and LITTLE LADY fought many times. Sadly for Calico, Patch would sometimes leap in on Little Girl’s aspect and run her off.
Calico was banished to getting together with her brothers. It has been a year or two since then. LITTLE LADY continues to be favourite girl. Calico’s position has eased relatively. Last summer, LITTLE LADY allowed Calico to help her with her kittens from time to time.
Patch has allowed Calico to hold out with her again every once in awhile. Who knows? One day Calico that is in a position to work herself back to her mother’s good graces. LITTLE LADY appears to think so. She pieces Calico meticulously. If she considers things were going too well for Calico, LITTLE LADY begins combat with her. Oh well, Life continues.
It is not only girls displaying some unusual behaviour. Recently two dark brown kittens were delivered. Thomas, an attractive cinnamon dark brown with a lot of flashy white, was created in the springtime. Pudge is solid brownish with no white whatsoever and was past due summer. What’s interesting about both of these is they are both fascinated with horses.
We’ve three horses and every day you will get Thomas or Pudge (or both) strategically situated to view them. ONCE I call the horses out of their pasture, often I find Thomas trotting in along with them. EASILY throw hay to their managers I must check before I toss. Frequently Thomas or Pudge will be sitting down in the manger, ready for up close research of the equine.
When the horses are grazing, Thomas will creep along, nasal area to the bottom until he’s almost nose to nose area with the equine. He’ll stay there for a couple of minutes before horse carefully swings his nasal area at the kitten to force him take care. Pudge has developed a desire for horse’s tails. He’ll come right in behind the horse’s pumps and start using the tail. Thankfully for him, the horses have refrained from introducing him into orbit.
Savannah Felines are funny and enjoyable animals, aren’t they. You merely never look to learn what they will do next.

If you opt to have a savannah cats-flap suited to your door to ensure that the Savannah cats will come and go as it pleases, you will need to teach it to use the flap. You should use tit-bits to lure the Savannah cats to undergo the fold when it’s fully open. Begin by starting the flap completely, just displaying the tit-bit, then the next time closes the flap a bit and continues doing so before savannah cats realise that the flap will open up with a little push of the top.
